WELCOME BACK!!!  To those of you who have checked here off and on for new content, I thank you for the continued interest.  Without getting too much into my time away from this blog, I am happy to say I’ve been bit by the ‘writing bug’ and I’m eager to share some of whats be rattling in my mind.  So without further delay, here is my first poem completed in a long time.  Special shout-out to my support team for always bugging me for new work.  ‘preciate each of you!!!

Caste

Who am I, under this caste
Overhead, shaping my path.

A jugment, based off of lives,
Out of my hands, brimmed with wrath.

Unable to move around,
This frame – trailing my shadows.

Stalking my future pursuits.
Thoughts of me – on the gallows.

In a game I want no parts,
Yet I’m still forced to attempt.

Try to rebel, standing firm,
My efforts – met with contempt.

Still victim to growing hate.
Forever linked to a land.

Whose core upon we have built,
A way of life far from grand.

Still seen through a vision veiled,
Laced with truth that’s based on lies.

Chances for a lasting peace,
Seem to start through hollow eyes.

Everyday – more of the same.
Differences leading to pain.

With fingers pointing each way
Yet no plan to break the chain.

New futures starting each day.
These roots expected to grow.

Being fed the ills we craft,
Setting up their life of woe.

Will we ever pull ourselves
Out from under what’s been done?

Or will cycles still spin on,
Nothing changing, nothing won.
